BoomWriter's seasonal writing event for BoomReader schools, included in your subscription.
Each season we give schools a new story starter. Classes across the UK and beyond write the same story together, and the best chapters, chosen by the pupils themselves, build a brand-new book.
WriteFest is included in your BoomReader subscription, with a story starter written at different levels so every class can take part.

How WriteFest works
- Our team chooses a professionally written story starter, including contributions from well-known children's authors.
- Every pupil writes their own version of the next chapter in BoomWriter.
- We run an anonymous vote, where pupils rate the chapters against set criteria.
- Starcasting: the top-voted chapters build the final story, leading to a personalised digital book.
- The process repeats each week of WriteFest: read, write, vote.
- The winning pupils are celebrated in the finished digital book.
How to take part

- Create a new writing project.
- Choose the classes you'd like to take part.
- Choose the WriteFest category and subcategory.
- Choose the story starter for your class's level.
- Start writing!
